Solar Light Tubes
Solar light tubes or sun-pipes or sun tubes as they are sometimes called are a new way to literally pipe natural daylight from a roof top directly into your home. They are especially useful in areas with no or limited windows such as lofts and even basements. They can provide light from dawn right through to dusk and sometimes even after that if there is moon light or even street lighting.
They use no energy as they have a very highly reflective tube that runs from the roof through to the area to be lit. The tube has a mirror finish that will intensify and reflect natural daylight to a room below. This light is of course entirely free for ever. A transparent dome covers the tube on the roof and a translucent ceiling dome diffuses the light across the room.
The tubes can normally be bent and no structural alterations are required on installing.
