Rainwater Harvesting
Rainwater harvesting is a solution that many home owners can benefit from today. Rainwater is collected from the roof via the guttering, filtered and stored in a dedicated tank. It's then re-used for non drinking applications such as:
- toilet flushing
- washing machines
- vehicle washing
- watering the garden
This will result in reduced water consumption of up to 50% and lessen the impact on the environment.
A rainwater harvesting system is more than a bigger version of a water butt. It will normally include such features as:
- a filtering system
- integrated pump system
- automatic switch-over to mains supply
As the rainwater harvesting tanks can be buried in a garden, they provide an unobtrusive solution to water conservation.
